The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) promote capacity building by providing training and education for professionals. The NFP was initiated and is fully funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation. EP-Nuffic is responsible for the management of the NFP.
This morning the families of the victims of the MH17 disaster were briefed by the Joint Investigation Team on the initial findings of the criminal investigation into the downing of flight MH17. These findings concern the weapon used to down flight MH17, the location from which it was fired and the Buk missile system’s route of transport.
On the 6th and 7th of June, some 10 Dutch companies participated in a trade mission to Chad. This was organized by the Nem Trading Center (NTC) together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The United States Government has tightened restrictions on European and other travellers who have visited one of the following countries within the last five years such as Iraq, Iran, Syria and Sudan.
Due to an internal reorganization, the processing time of applications of Netherlands travel documents may take up 2 weeks longer than usual. As of March 8, 2016, the system will be fully operational again whereby we will be able to process your application as you are used of us.
Foreign minister Bert Koenders and travel expert Floortje Dessing have launched a new central helpline for travellers. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs can now be reached 24 hours a day, seven days a week at +31 247 247 247 for practical travel tips and assistance. Travellers abroad can also contact the Ministry online and via Twitter. It is estimated that about 3,000 people per day will use the new services.
